Your child is able to access 570 hours of funded early education per year from the term after their third birthday.

2 year old funding

Thousands of children across Norfolk have a right to funded early education from the age of two. If you receive qualifying benefits, your 2-year-old can access up to 570 hours of funded early education and childcare a year. This is usually taken as 15 hours a week over 38 weeks, from the claim period following their second birthday.

• Step 1: Check your eligibility online
  Create a Norfolk Education Online (NEO) account. Please note, if you’ve ever applied for a school place for another child, you may already have a NEO account.

• Step 2: Give your chosen childcare provider your unique code

30 hours

All 3 year olds are entitled to 15-hour free childcare. If your child is 3 or 4 and both parents work (or one in a single parent household) you are likely to be entitled to 30-hour free childcare. All you need to do is visit https://www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-childcare and complete the eligibility check. This takes around 20 minutes. Once you have your eligibility code, which is 12 digits starting with 500, you need to give it to preschool, who will add it to your funding form. You can apply just before your child is 3 years old.  Use this service to apply for a code to get 30-hour free childcare.

You’ll need your details (and your partner’s, if you have one), including your

• National Insurance Number
• Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), if you’re self-employed
